Hello Friends if you use windows 8 for first time then you will have some difficulty to understand it but after i have spend so much time on it now i am ready to make some tricks out of it. If you are using windows 8 for the first time then you will have some difficulties becuase you wont find any shut down or restart button on the start screen.So today i am writing an trick on how you can add a one click shut down button and restart button. This trick is very simple and i have also provided image so you will not find any difficulties through out this tutorial.
Follow the simple steps to add Shut down button
- Right Click On your Desktop then take your mouse over New and then Shortcut from pop out.
- Type the below command in the Type the location of the item and click next.
shutdown.exe -s -t 00
- Now give the shortcut name of Shut Down.
- You Can also change the icon of shortcut.
- To change the icon Right CLick on the icon and select properties.On the properties dialog box Click On Change Icon.

- Now you can select any icon for your shutdown button i choosed the default shut down icon.After choosing your icon click on Ok.
- Now Pin The Button To Start Screen by right clicking on it and selecting Pin To Start Button.
- Now Go To the start screen and verify that the tile appears.
- If You Want to add Restart button also Then Follow all the steps above but just change the command with the below one
shutdown.exe -r -t 00
